Overview of Business Development at Aleo
As a business development associate you will be responsible for developing an active and prosperous ecosystem of value creation on the Aleo network. You will work closely with our VP of Business Development, as well as other cross-functional team members, to support existing projects within the Aleo ecosystem. You will also help source and work directly with prospective community members and other partners to get more teams building and using applications on Aleo.
The candidate will be responsible for providing resources to support projects within the Aleo ecosystem and help them capture users. In addition to working with existing ecosystem projects, business development team members are responsible for driving growth by targeting new projects and partners that aren’t already building on Aleo or using our products and services. If successful, this candidate will bring new projects, brands and users to the Aleo ecosystem.
We are actively looking for individuals who can help us grow and maintain a strong cohort of builders working across our DeFi, Gaming, Identity, Machine Learning, Voting/Governance and Institutional/Infrastructure use cases.
This role is fully remote, but Aleo has an office in New York City for those who are located in the area and would like to work in the office with other team members.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Identify and pursue strategic partnerships that align with Aleo’s mission and objectives, and will strengthen the Aleo ecosystem.
- Work with existing ecosystem projects and partners to help them achieve their goals.
- Co-management of the Aleo Grants Program.
- Help draft grant RFPs and partnership proposals.
- Co-manage our business development pipeline and CRM processes.
- Structure collaborations between Aleo and prospective projects.
- Be a liaison for projects to feel supported with any obstacles they face.
- Define strategic priorities and OKRs for yourself and our growing team.
- Be an advocate for the Aleo ecosystem and work with product, marketing, and engineering teams to help drive use cases and partnership opportunities.
- Work with the broader Business Development team and Legal to negotiate and finalize partnership agreements, ensuring favorable terms for all parties involved.
- Provide exceptional developer / ecosystem support to ensure long-term satisfaction and loyalty.
- Stay informed of industry trends in crypto, Web3, zero-knowledge, competitor activities, and market developments.
- Attend conferences, trade shows, and industry events to represent Aleo and network with potential builders and partners.
- Deliver presentations (ranging from high-level to semi-technical) and participate in panel discussions to showcase Aleo’s value proposition.
What We Are Looking For In You:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development or similar client-facing role.
- Individuals who are self-starters, have an entrepreneurial mindset and hungry to learn.
- Fundamental understanding of blockchain and zero-knowledge technology.
- Ability to comprehend technical concepts to work closely with partners/builders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong interest in privacy-centric solutions and zero-knowledge.
- Ability to understand and communicate the technical aspects of Aleo’s offerings over other zero-knowledge blockchains.
- Strong organizational skills and capability to handle communications across multiple channels.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, marketing, legal, and other business development professionals.
- Proactive and able to take initiative with minimal guidance.
- Familiarity with Airtable, Slack, GSuite, Notion.
- Ability to travel ~50%.
Nice to Haves:
- Brings existing Web3 and crypto relationships/connections.
- Basic level background knowledge in general computer science and/or cryptography.
- Understanding or experience of Growth Operations at blockchain protocols.
- Familiarity with the existing privacy/zero-knowledge landscape.
- A deep network in Web3.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary $90k - 135k plus a token package — determined through the interview process after a review of experience, knowledge, skills, as well as alignment with market data.
