Overview of Motion Designer Role

In this role, you will be responsible for creating innovative and engaging motion graphics and video content in support of our overall marketing initiatives and goals, including campaigns, “always-on” content, educational resources, events, and our website. You will work closely with our design team and cross-functional partners to elevate our brand through visual storytelling and uphold our brand standards through the development of motion guidelines and systems.

This role is fully remote, but candidates must be based in the U.S. Aleo has a New York City office for those who are located there and would like to work in the office with other team members.

What You Will Be Doing:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualize and create visually stunning motion graphics for digital platforms.

  • Develop animated content that aligns with our brand identity and marketing objectives.

  • Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to integrate motion graphics into various campaigns and projects.

  • Create motion systems, guidelines, and processes to ensure quality and consistency at scale.

  • Ensure seamless integration of motion graphics elements into edited videos.

  • Occasional video editing, including product demos and tutorials.

  • Conduct stock video and music research to complement occasional edits.

What We Are Looking For In You:

  • Proven experience as a Motion Designer.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop).

  • Strong portfolio showcasing motion graphics design.

  • Excellent visual storytelling skills and ability to communicate concepts and design rationale.

  • A systems thinker with experience developing motion guidelines / systems.

  • Knowledge of current design trends and a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions.

  • Ability to adapt to the evolving needs of a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Openness to working on a diverse range of projects beyond motion graphics, including occasional spillover design tasks.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with tech and web3 industry trends.

  • Knowledge of 3D tools (Blender/C4D/etc.) is a plus.

Salary & Benefits

  • $110,000 to $130,000 annual base plus an Aleo Credit package — determined through the interview process after a review of experience, knowledge, skills, as well as alignment with market data
