SHIELD WALLET

Changelog

Release history and notable updates. We ship improvements regularly.

v1.8.0

The value change component now includes a tooltip for additional context. Adding accounts is now disabled for private key accounts to prevent configuration issues.

Messaging across Shield Wallet has been consolidated and standardized for consistency. A fee formatting issue that prevented wBTC from being sent has been resolved.

Several display fixes address transaction detail rendering and token symbol issues. Deprecated code has been removed.

v1.7.0

The new send flow introduced in v1.6.0 is now enabled by default. The feature flag has been removed.

Auto-join reliability improves with fallback to native join logic when needed, making private record consolidation more dependable.

The wallet receives a full typography upgrade with ABCDiatypeMono and InnovatorGrotesk fonts now used across the application. Visual enhancements include new transaction loading animations, balance sync animations, and a refresh button.

Performance improvements to local proving now take advantage of multi-core processing. A small UX refinement hides value changes during the first 24 hours to reduce noise. Configuration screens in the settings menu have been reorganized for better usability.

Several stability, reliability, localization, and QA fixes address balance display, send flow, auto-join, and translations.

v1.6.1

A small patch release addressing the Chrome Web Store rejection from v1.5.0 by adjusting how analytics are imported.

Minor UI refinement adds padding to the header. Internal test updates improve QA coverage.

v1.6.0

The new send flow arrives with a simplified interface and improved in-place interactions. It's available now via feature flag in User Settings.

Balances are now presented in a unified view with a clear Public / Private breakdown, making it easier to understand where your funds are at a glance.

A new banner notification system provides real-time visibility when services experience outages, so you're not left guessing if something isn't working.

Onboarding animations continue to improve, reinforcing the Shield Wallet brand for first-time users.

Several reliability, performance, and QA improvements address balance fetching, proving, and SDK updates.

v1.5.0

The send flow continues to improve with a redesigned amount screen, making it clearer to input and confirm what you're sending.

New onboarding animations reinforce the Shield Wallet brand for first-time users. Support links and derivation path documentation have been added to settings.

Security sees meaningful improvements. If you enter your password incorrectly, lockout times now increase gradually with a visible countdown, making unauthorized access significantly harder. Additional protections strengthen how the wallet stores and handles sensitive data.

When dApps send multiple requests quickly, the wallet now queues them to prevent accidental confirmations. Performance improves through more efficient record-fetching.

Mixpanel analytics have been added. Several stability fixes address auto-join, screen scrolling, dApp interactions, and display issues.

v1.4.0

Galileo is now Shield Wallet. This release includes the rebrand across the extension.

With the introduction of multiple derivation paths in previous releases, clarity around account types matters more. Legacy accounts are now explicitly labeled in both the receive screen and the account switcher drawer, making it easier to identify which path type each account uses.

A loading state now appears when fetching private transactions for the first time, replacing what previously felt like an unresponsive screen.

Fixes in this release correct stablecoin labeling in the Activity tab and swap the positions of token amount and value for better readability. Redundant registration requests during wallet onboarding have been removed.

Sentry tracking has been added for error monitoring.

v1.3.0

Auto-join is now enabled by default. New users no longer need to find and toggle this setting. Private record consolidation happens automatically from the start.

The derivation path work introduced in v1.2.0 continues with an updated Add Account interface that surfaces path options more clearly. Transaction fetching now uses cursor-based pagination, improving performance for wallets with long histories.

The homepage layout has been reordered for better hierarchy.

Fixes in this release address a display issue where USDCx transactions appeared as USAD in the Activity tab, along with token price sync problems and an edge case that allowed multiple wallet creation actions. The SDK has been updated to v0.9.14.

v1.2.0

The stablecoin work from v1.1.0 moves forward. Auto-join now supports USAD on testnet, bringing the same automatic record consolidation to compliant stablecoins that already exists for ALEO.

This release also adds support for both /0 and /683 derivation paths, improving compatibility for users importing wallets from other sources.

For developers building on Shield Wallet: the dApp interface gains two new functions. requestTransactionHistory and transitionViewKeys expand what connected applications can access. Private fees are now enabled when deploying programs.

Performance improvements address how the wallet handles large transaction histories. We've also removed reliance on CoinGecko APIs.

Several fixes improve accuracy and reliability: transaction details no longer oscillate between positive and negative values, zero-value transfers are now blocked, and the "Balance Before" value displays correctly in shield/unshield previews.

v1.1.0

This release focuses on infrastructure. The foundation for compliant stablecoins is now in place. These regulated, privacy-enabled stable assets will be available once the final contracts deploy to mainnet.

On the interface side, mode selection for proving and record management has been redesigned for clarity. Market data is easier to read. Scroll position is now preserved when navigating between screens, so you return to where you were instead of the top of the page.

The shield/unshield flow now uses the fee master, bringing it in line with how private sends already work.

Several fixes in this release address duplicate pending transactions, amount validation in the split flow, and state preservation when navigating back during a send.

v1.0.0

This release marks a significant infrastructure upgrade. All authentication has migrated to the new Auth V3 system, improving both security and performance across registration and API paths.

Transaction reliability improves with status updates now running on a background service. This means fewer interruptions and more consistent feedback as transactions process.

On the interface side, a new token management component provides enhanced capabilities for handling your assets. Token price history and market information are now available through a new endpoint integration. The balance visibility icon has been refined for clearer show/hide functionality.

The send flow receives several improvements. Guardrails now ensure safe automatic record consolidation during private sends. The screen itself has been cleaned up for a more streamlined experience, and redundant info cards no longer appear when auto-join is enabled.

Settings navigation is simpler with Advanced and Experimental categories now combined into one.

Several fixes address auto-join behavior, transaction history display, avatar consistency, and error recovery.
